Given :-

  • LI = (3x - 5) cm .
  • IV = (2y - 7) cm .
  • VE = (x + 7) cm .
  • LE = (y + 3) cm .

Answer :-

we know that,

  • Opposite sides of a parallelogram are equal in length .

so,

→ LI = VE

→ 3x - 5 = x + 7

→ 3x - x = 7 + 5

→ 2x = 12

→ x = 6 (Ans.a) .

then,

→ LI = (3x - 5) = 3 * 6 - 5 = 18 - 5 = 13 cm (Ans.b)

similarly,

→ IV = LE

→ 2y - 7 = y + 3

→ 2y - y = 3 + 7

→ y = 10 (Ans.c) .

then,

→ LE = y + 3 = 10 + 3 = 13 cm (Ans.d)

now,

→ Perimeter of parallelogram LIVE = LI + IV + VE + LE = 2 * LI + 2 * LE = 2 * 13 + 2 * 13 = 26 + 26 = 52 cm (Ans.e)

Property used is opposite sides of a parallelogram are equal in length .
