Que- A bus is moving with a velocity of 30 km/h. The driver then accelerates the bus and it attains a speed of 50 km/h in 3 minutes. If the total mass of the bus with passengers is 2000kg. Then calculate the force generated by the engine of the bus.

GIVEN:-

  • \tt{Initial\:Velocity = 30km/hr = 16.66m/s}

  • \tt{Final\:Velocity = 50km/hr = 13.8m/s}

  • \tt{Time\:taken = 3minute = 180s.}.

  • \tt{Mass\:of\:the\:bus = 2000kg}.

TO FIND:-

  • The force generated by engine of the Bus.

FORMULAE USED:-

  • {\boxed{\huge{\rm{ v = u + at}}}}

  • {\boxed{\huge{\rm{ F = ma}}}}

Where,

v = Final Velocity

u = Initial Velocity

F = Force exerted

m = Mass

a = Acceleration

Now,

\implies\tt{ v = u + at}

\implies\tt { 13.8 = 16.6 + a(180)}

\implies\tt{ 13.8 - 16.6 = 180a}

\implies\tt{ -2.8 = 180a}

\implies\tt{ a = \dfrac{-2.8}{180}}

{\boxed{\underline{\implies{\tt{ a = -0.015m/s^{-2}}}}}}

Negative Sign Implies that Acceleration is acting in Opposite Direction.

Therefore,

\implies\tt{ F = ma}

\implies\tt{ F = 2000\times{-0.015}}

{\boxed{\huge{\implies{\tt{ F = -30N}}}}}.

Negative Sign implies that Force is acting on opposite direction.
