1.Mediaeval is derived from the latin medium aeval and means “middle ages”; it refers to the period of time between the collapse of the Western Roman Empire (476AD) and the beginning of the High Renaissance (c. 1500 AD). ... 2.Monuments are important because they give us many details such as:

a.The style and designs prevalent at that time.

b.The type of materials common at that time.

c.The building techniques.

d.The purpose of the said monument.

e.The historical events surrounding the monument.

f.The political environment and so on.

3.The various changes which took place included the worship of new deities, the construction of temples by royalty and the growing importance of Brahmanas, the priests, as dominant groups in society. One of major changes which took place in the field of religion was the emergence of the bhakti movement.
