Answer: Regular and continuous replacement of some old

tissues such as blood cells takes place through   mitosis.

Explanation:

  • Mitosis occurs in all the somatic cells of human body where the cell divides into two identical daughter cell with same number of chromosomes. Diploid parent cell produce diploid daughter cells.

for eg:  all cells of the body except germ cells.

  • Meiosis occurs only in germ cells / gonadial cells where a cell divides into four daughter cell with half the original amount of genetic material and contain half number of chromosmes. Diploid parent cell produce haploid daughter cells.

For eg: germ cells (sperm and ova primordial cells)
