Armature :it Enhances the power of the motor/induces motion
Split rings:IT reverses the direction of current after each half rotation of the coil so that the coil can keep rotating continuously.
Slip rings:it provides a means for connecting Armature of A. C generator to an external circuit.

DC motor
Brushes : the brushes of DC motor are made of carbon and graphite structure , making a sliding contact over the rotating commutator .
the brushes are used to relay the current from external circuit to the rotating commutator it flows into the armature weding .
split rings : split rings are the original term for conceptual component that became the commutator , although this is used as synonym for commutator
it also changes the direction of current .
Armature : the armature weding of DC motor attached to rotor , or the rotating part of the machine .
AC motor
Split Rings : In AC motor , split rings used for reverse the direction of current in the coil , the direction of the current through the coil has to be reversed doing by split rings in rotating commutator.
