Answer:

a)Zno+C gives Zn+Co

Explanation:

oxygen is reduced

b)Mg+2HCl gives MgCl2+H2

hydrogen is reduced

c)Cu+O2 gives 2CuO

oxygen is oxidised

Explanation:

Hey mate!!

First, let's briefly talk about what are oxidised and reduced substances.

The substance which gains oxygen or removes hydrogen, is called oxidised and substance which loses oxygen or gains hydrogen, is called reduced.

1) ZnO + C ⇒ Zn + CO

In this reaction, Carbon is gaining oxygen and Zinc Oxide is losing oxygen.

Thus, Substance oxidised :- Carbon (C)

          Substance reduced:- Zinc Oxide (ZnO)

2) Mg + 2HCl ⇒ MgCl₂ + H₂

In this reaction, Magnesium is losing electrons and formimg magnesium cation, Mg ²⁺ and hydrogen hydrogen is being reduced from hydrogen ion, H⁺ to Hydrogen molecule, H₂.

Thus, Substance oxidised :- Magnesium

         Substance reduced :- Hydrogen

3) Cu + O₂ ⇒ 2CuO

This is the simplest one. We can answer it just by observing it.

Thus, Substance oxidised :- Hydrogen (H₂)

Substance reduced :- Copper oxide (CuO)

Hope it helps......

Please mark it as brainliest because I have worked hard for this answer and you......

Thank you
