d) Uttrakhand.
- It is the method of cultivation in which steps are cut from the mountain slopes in the form of a terrace and crops are grown on it. This method is highly effective in hilly terrains. It prevents nutrients from escaping the soil during heavy rain. It also reduces soil erosion and water loss.
- It isn't viable to follow terrace farming in the plains. Uttrakhand being a state with mountainous topology, is ideal for terrace farming.
