Ques.If 40ml of NaOH solution is titrated with 20ml of H2SO4 solution having molarity 0.5M Find Molarity of Base (NaOH) and also calculate number of Na+ ions present in final solution ​

NaOH + HCl -> NaCl + H2O

Since it is one mole of HCl react with one mole of NaOH, you can simplify the equation as :

M1 x V1 = M2 x V2

M1 = Molarity of HCl

V1 = Titration volume of HCl

M2 = Molarity of NaOH

V2 = Volume of NaOH used

Example:

20ml of 0.1M HCl was used to neutralize 50ml NaOH solution during titration.

20 x 0.1 = M2 x 50

M2 = 0.04 M
