Okay so!

Electronic configuration of A = 2,8,2 = magnesium

Electronic configuration of B = 2,5 = nitrogen.

(a). A forms ion as : Mg²+ = A²+

B forms ion as : N³- = B³-

(b). 3Mg + N2 ➡️ Mg3N2

= 3A + B2 ➡️ A3B2.

(c). On electrolysis,

A (that is a cation) is obtained on cathode.

B (an anion) is obtained at anode.

lata7742: ThaNku so much, but i wanted to ask how did u come to know that A is Mg , I mean it can be Beryllium or calcium or some other element...
nymphias15: Since atomic number = 12, it can only be magnesium. No two elements in the whole periodic table can have the same atomic number.
