since

a+b=11,

ab=24,

then

(a-b)²=(a+b)²-4ab,

(a-b)²=(11)²-4×24,

(a-b)²=121-96,

(a-b)²=25,

(a-b)=√25,

then

(a-b)=5

a+b =11 and ab =24
a+b=-b/a =11/1
ab= c/a = 24/1
by using the standard form
ax2+bx2+c = 0
we get the values
a = 1, b = -11 , c = 24
a-b = 1-(-11)= 1+11= 12
hope this helps you❤️❤️
