If possible let 3✓2 is a rational Number.


3 is RATIONAL and ✓2 is irrational.

1/3 × 3✓2

=> ✓2 is rational [ Product of rational and rational is rational]

But this contradicts the fact that ✓2 is rational.

This contradiction arises by assuming that 3✓2 is RATIONAL .


Hence,

3✓2 is irrational Number.
