Given :

  • Two persons A and B earn hourly
  • A earn Rs. 80 in 7 hours
  • B earn Rs. 90 in 12 hours

To Find :

  • Find ratio of their earnings ?

Solution :

  • Given Conditions :

➣ Earning of A in 7 hours = ₹80

➣ Earning of B in 12 hours = ₹90

  • Earning in 1 hour :

➣ Earning of A in 7 hours = ₹80

➣ Earning of A in 1 hours = 80/7

➣ Earning of B in 12 hours = ₹90

➣ Earning of B in 1 hours = 90/12

Ratio of their Earnings :

➣ Ratio = Earning of A/Earning of B

➣ Ratio = (80/7)/(90/12)

➣ Ratio = (80 × 12/7 × 90)

➣ Ratio = (8 × 12/7 × 9)

➣ Ratio = (8 × 4/7 × 3)

➣ Ratio = (32/21)

Hence,

  • Ratio of their earning is 32 : 21.

Earning by (A) in 7 hrs=80

Earning by (B) in 12 hrs=90

Earning by (A) in 1 hr=  \sf \:  \frac{80}{7}

Earning by (B) in 1 hr=  \sf \:  \frac{90}{12}

  \tt \: ratio \: of \: earning  =  \frac{ \frac{18}{7} }{ \frac{19}{12} }  =  \frac{8 \times 12}{7 \times 90}  =  \\

 \tt \:  \frac{8 \times 12}{7 \times 9}  =  \frac{8 \times 4}{7 \times 3}  =  \frac{32}{21}  \\

RATIO =  \sf \:  \frac{32}{21} = 32:21
