✍️Symbiosis is a close relationship between two species in which at least one species benefits. For the other species, the relationship may be positive, negative, or neutral.

For eg. lichen - it is symbiotic relationship between algae and fungi. Algae member is called phycobiont and make food by its own by photosynthesis and fungus member is called mycobiont which provide water to algae. Here , fungus is dependent on algae for food but algae is independent because if fungus will not provide it water then it will arrange from elsewhere.
