Answer:

Helen Stoner was a lady who appears in the story "The Adventure of the Speckled Band". This book was written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Helen Stoner is a lady who is about to get married in the Spring. She lives with her villainous and homicidal stepfather, Dr. Grimesby Roylott, in Stoke Moran on the western border of Surrey.

One night, just before some days before her marriage, she was troubled by a very bizarre sort of noise which had been the herald of her very own beloved companion as well as sister Julia Stoner's death. So she was scared and that's why goes to Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John H. Watson for help.

She had spent a sleepless night that day after she heard the nocturnal whistles and went to Sherlock Holmes to beg for help. Sherlock, who is always interested in strange cases took this case and he finally unravelled the mystery of these nocturnal whistles and found out the evil plans of this man named Grimesby Roylott.

Helen Stoner was dressed heavily in black and had worn a black veil on her head and was sitting on the window Holmes's chamber at 221B Baker Street.
