concept : To convert a digit in scientific notation ( N × 10ⁿ ) shift the decimal point just after non - zero digit .
but remember , if shifting is towards right n has nigative value and if shifting is towards left then n has positive value .
(i) 0.0048
shift the decimal point right side
e.g., 4.8 × 10⁻³
(ii) 234000
shift the decimal point left side
e.g., 2.34 × 10⁵
(iii) 8008
shift the decimal point left side
e.g., 8.008 × 10³
(iv) 5000
shift decimal point left side
e.g., 5.0 × 10³
(v) 6.0012
it is already in scientific notation .
e.g., 6.0012 × 10⁰
