Given :

Mathematics books = 8 dozen = ₹50

Physics books = 7 dozen = ₹40

Chemistry books = 10 dozen = ₹60

To find :

The total amount that the book seller will receive from school.

Solution :

Let A be the matrix of number of books.

 \sf A = [ 8 \times 12 \:  \:  \:  7  \times 12  \:  \:  \: 10 \times  12]

 \sf A = [96 \:  \:  \: 84 \:  \:  \:120]

B be matrix of cost of each book

 \sf B = \begin{bmatrix} \begin{array}  {l}  { \sf 50 } \\ { \sf 40 } \\ { \sf60 } \end{array} \end{bmatrix}

Total selling price =

 \sf AB  = [ 96\quad  84  \quad 120] \begin{bmatrix} \begin{array}  { l  }  { 50 } \\ { 40 } \\ { 60 } \end{array} \end{bmatrix}

 \sf AB  = [96 \times 50 +  84 \times 40  +  120 \times 60]

 \sf AB  = [4800 +  3360 +  7200]

 \sf AB  = [15360]

Thus, total amount that the book seller will receive from school is 15360rs.
