Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The Lateral Surface area of the room is 2( lb + hl )

l = 45 m   b = 30 m   h = 16 m

Area covered by  1 door is 4 X 3.5 = 14 sq m

Area covered by one window = 2.5 X 1.6 = 4 sq m

Total area covered by 5 doors and 4 windows is

   5 X ( 14 ) + 4 X ( 4 ) = 86 sq m

The total surface area of room is

  2( 45X30  + 45X16 )

= 4140 sq m

Total area that can be covered is

Lateral Surface Area - Area covered by doors and windows

= 4054 sq m

Area of floor is bh

= 480 sq m

(i)

Cost of papering the walls is Area times the rate

= 4140 X 35

= Rs 144900

(ii)

Cost of carpeting the walls is area X rate

= 480 X 154

= Rs 73920
