when a concentrated solution of sodium chloride is electrolyzed then a strong base called Sodium hydroxide is formed along with a strong acid called Hydrochloric acid..... They both nutrilises each other's effect.

NaCl + H2O ---(in the presence of electricity)---> NaOH + HCl
