• Divide Rs.414 into three part such that first one is 2/3 of the second and the ratio between second and third is 5:7.

TO FIND:-

• The ratios.

SOLUTION:-

Let the ratio of the three parts be x:y:z.

$= > x = \frac{2}{3}y \\ \\ \\ = > \frac{x}{y} = \frac{2}{3}$

$\small\bold{x:y=2:3}$

• Given, y:z=5:7

• :.x:y=2:3 and y:z=5:7

Now to make y equal in both cases take L.C.M. if the two values of y.

L.C.M. of 3 and 5 =3×5=>15

• :.x:y=2:3

• $= > \frac{2}{3} \\ \\ \\ = > \frac{2 \times 5}{3 \times 5} = \frac{10}{15}$
• =>10:15

And y:z

• =>5:7

• $= > \frac{5}{7} \\ \\ \\ = > \frac{5 \times 3}{7 \times 3} = \frac{15}{21}$
• =>15:21

$\implies$x:y:z=$\small\bold{10:15:21}$

Sum of the terms of the ratio=10+15+21=Rs.46

1ST PART=>

• $= > rs. ( \frac{10}{46} \times 414) = > rs.90$

2ND PART=>

• $= > rs.( \frac{15}{46} \times 414) = > rs.135$

3RD PART=>

• $rs.( \frac{21}{46} \times 414) = > rs.189$

• Find the third proportion to 3.6,1.8

TO FIND:-

• The third proportion to 3.6,1.8.

SOLUTION:-

Let the third proportion to 3.6 and 1.8 be x.Then 3.6,1.8 and x are in continuous proportion.

$= > \frac{3.6}{1.8} = \frac{1.8}{x} \\ \\ \\ = > 3.6x = 1.8 \times 1.8 \\ \\ \\ = > x = \frac{1.8 \times 1.8}{3.6} \\ \\ \\ = > x = \frac{18}{36} \times \frac{18}{10} = \frac{9}{10} \\ \\ \\ = > x = 0.9$

TO FIND:-

• The third proportion to 4*1/6,25

SOLUTION:-

• $= > \frac{ \frac{25}{6} }{5} = \frac{5}{x} = > \frac{25}{6} \times \frac{1}{5} = \frac{5}{x} \\ \\ \\ = > 5x = 6 \times 5 \\ \\ \\ = > x = \frac{6 \times 5}{5} \\ \\ \\ = > x = 6.$
