There once lived a rich man.
Many servants worked in his palatial house. One day a wallet containing a lot of money got stolen from the rich man’s drawer. The man looked for it everywhere and on not finding it, reported the theft and filed a complaint in the police station. However, the police investigation did not lead them to the thief. The following day, all the servants were summoned. Each of them was given a stick. All the sticks were of the same length. The servants were informed that the thief’s stick would grow an inch overnight. The thief got worried. He cut his stick by an inch to make adjustments for the extra growth that would happen at night. The next morning when all the servants presented their sticks, one stick was an inch shorter than the others. The thief was caught!
