Given:

Length of silver bar = 100cm

Width of silver bar = 30cm

Thickness of silver bar = 10cm

Resistivity of silver = 1.59 × 10 m

To find:

Resistance of silver bar

Solution:

Formula of calculation of resistance is -

          R = \rho \frac{l}{A}

here, R = resistance of silver bar

        ρ = resistivity of silver bar

        l = length of silver bar

         A = area of cross-sectional

First, find area of cross sectional,

             A = l × b

here, l = length

        b = width

therefore,

             A = 100 × 30

              A = 3000cm²

so, area of cross sectional is 3000cm².

Now, find resistance of silver bar,

            R = 1.59 \times 10 \times \frac{100}{3000}

            R = \frac{1.59}{3}

           R = 0.53Ω

Hence, resistance of silver bar is found to be 0.53Ω.
