Answer:

(1) Salarino wants to cheer his friend, Antonio. He wants to do so because Antonio is being bothered by sadness for an unknown reason.

(2)'Worthier friends' are Bassanio, Lorenzo and Gratiano. Salarino refers to Bassanio as Antonio's best friend.

(3)Salarino has been trying to cheer Antonio first by telling him about the duality of things. He swears upon the Roman god of duality Janus.

He explains to him that some men laugh for no reason, like parrots laughing at bagpipers. He also tells Antonio about some men who will not even smile at a funny joke, even if Nestor swore it was funny. Nestor was a Greek general who faught in the trojan war. He was very serious and hardly had a sense of humour.

Hope it helps.
