Acceleration produced by a Force of 5N acting on a Mass of 20 kg. is -

(a) 4 m/s^2
(b) 100 m/s^2
(c) 0.25 m/s^2
(d) 2.5 m/s^2

ANSWER FOR QUESTION 1 :-

(a) THE AREA UNDER A SPEED TIME GRAPH GIVES THE DISTANCE TRAVELLED BY THE OBJECT.

DISTANCE => SPEED × TIME

=> (6-0) × {10-4}

=> 6 × 6

=> 36 m

(b) AS SEEN FROM THE GRAPH, THERE IS A SLOPE DOWNWARDS, WHICH TELLS US THAT THE SPEED OF THE BODY IS DECREASING. IT'S A UNIFORM DECELERATION.

ANSWER FOR QUESTION 2 :-

USING THE FORMULA F = MA;

{WHERE F IS FORCE APPLIED ; M IS THE MASS OF THE BODY AND A IS THE ACCELERATION OF THE BODY}.

5N = 20 KG × A

A = 5/20 => 0.25m/

{c} 0.25m/
