Hi friend,

Your answer:

Derry finds Mr. Lamb different from others. Mr. Lamb shows no shock or fear on seeing Derry’s burned face instead he talks to him in a loving manner. He welcomes him to his garden and offers to pluck apples to make jelly for him. He calls Derry his friend. He always says that things look outwardly different, but inwardly they are all the same. He gives the example of flowers, trees, herbs and weeds for this.

When Derry says that he hates some people, Mr. Lamb says that it can do him more harm than any bottle of acid. Acid burns only the face, but hatred burns one away inside. He advices Derry never to think of his burned face and tells him that if he has a firm mind, he can do better than others.

Thus, such words of encouragement that
draws Derry towards Mr. Lamb.

Hope it helps!

Hey !!

Derry's face was damaged by and people either sympathise or humiliate him. Children were afraid of his terrible ugly face. But Mr. Lamb treated him as if nothing was wrong. His attitudes was very positive and told Derry that he should not feel inferior as there are people who are in a condition worse than his. So Derry was drawn to Mr Lamb's optimistic attitude.

Good luck !!
