Derry found Mr. Lamb to be uniquely different and agreeable from all the people he had met in his life. He was quite friendly, amiable, easy to talk to, and pleasant. First time in his life he met someone who had shown interest in him. The most surprising quality that he liked in him was his acceptance of him. He had not shown any shock at his scar. He felt safe, secure, and unembarrassed in his company. So, he felt himself drawn to Mr. Lamb.

Hey !!
Derry's face was damaged by and people either sympathise or humiliate him. Children were afraid of his terrible ugly face. But Mr. Lamb treated him as if nothing was wrong. His attitudes was very positive and told Derry that he should not feel inferior as there are people who are in a condition worse than his. So Derry was drawn to Mr Lamb's optimistic attitude.
Good luck !!
