Dr Sadao tended a wounded war prisoner which was officially a serious crime. Dr Sadao also knew that he and his wife would be arrested if they sheltered a white man in their house. But it would only happen if someone complained against him and accused him of harboring an enemy.

Dr sadao told the general about the young man he said that he cared nothing for the man the general said that doctor sadao couldn't be arrested because he might be needed for his operation the general told doctor sadao that it was very unfortunate that this man should have washed up to his doorstep then the journal said that it would be the best if the young American was quietly killed he said that he has sent his own private assassins who will kill him tonight or tomorrow
