ANSWER :  

DMK, Akali Dal and CPI M demanded more powers for the states. These parties believed in the unity of India cannot be maintained without the centralisation of Greater powers to the States. These parties raised the following demands for greater autonomy are :  

1.D.M.K wanted maximum Powers for the States within the framework of the sovereignty and integrity of India in the constitution.

2.Transfer of residuary powers from the Centre to the States by amending the Constitution.

3. Akali Dal led by Prakash Singh Badal demanded  financial autonomy for the states.

4.The states should have a certain degree of freedom in negotiating loans, aid, etc, for developmental activities.

5. The state should be given more administrative powers. Anandpur Sahib Resolution lays down that Centre should have only four subjects - defence, communication, foreign affairs and currency. All other powers should be given to the states.

the demands raised by states in their quest for Greater autonomy as we know that if the particular state of district is handled by Monarchy form of government then it is not suitable for people because this type of form of Government cannot fulfill the People's aspiration and needs as per their demands but as we are in the form of Government like democracy one of the best democracy people can raise their demands to the government as they need like there was a flood in Kerala so people have demand for food and for living shelter this is provided by the government so this is the thing in which there was a quest for greatest economy
