in carbonate ion carbon undergoes sp hybridization in diamond sp3 & in graphite sp2

concept :- Hybridisation depends upon the number of σ bond , so count the number of σ bond formed by C. if the number of bonds is 4, the Hybridisation will be sp³ , if the number of σ bond is 3 then hybridisation will be sp², and if the number of σ bond is 2 then, Hybridisation will be sp.

The state of hybridisation of Carbon in CO3²– , diamond and in graphite is sp², sp³ and sp² respectively .
