12) All the alpha rays would've reflected completely, as according to Thompson, the atom was enclosed in a positive sphere; and the alpha rays are positive in nature...therefore the alpha rays and the atoms would repel each other as they have the same charge.

13)    I) By dissolving copper sulphate in water
          II) By mixing sulphur powder and iron fillings
III) By heating the mixture of sulphur powder and iron fillings to form Iron Sulphide.

14) I) Because it has innumerable air pores in it, which, when pressed, compress; as the air in them escapes out. 
       II) I don't quite understand this questions, I think it should be....Salt and Sugar when kept in jars obtain their shapes, yet they are called solids. Its answer is;      Salt and sugar are ground in small granules which are solid themselves. Their crystals' shape remains intact in all places. Thus, they are called solids.
  III) Because the wet cloth's water molecules evaporate taking the heat from the head, thus leaving coolness behind.
