concept :- Amphoteric means reacts with acids as well as base. so give the reactions of Al with acid and base.
Al dissolve both in acid and alkalies evolving dihydrogen and thus, shows amphoteric nature.
2Al + 3H2SO4 -----> Al2(SO4)3 + 3H2
2Al + 2NaOH + 6H2O -----> 2Na⁺[Al(OH)₄]⁻ {sod. tetrahydroxoaluminate (III) } + 3H₂
