Given : A hybrid car with a 9.80 gal tank consumes gasoline at a rate of 54.1 miles/gal.

To find : How many liters of gasoline will be consumed traveling 132 km

Solution:

consumes gasoline at a rate of 54.1 miles/gal.

=> 1 mile = 1.61 km

=> consumes gasoline at a rate of 1.61 x 54.1 km /gal

=> consumes gasoline at a rate of 87.1 km /gal

in   87.1 km  gasoline consumed  =  1 gal

=> in   1 km  gasoline consumed  =  1 /87.1  gal

=> in   132 km  gasoline consumed  = 132 /87.1  gal

= 1.5155 gal

1 gal = 3.785 litre

liters of gasoline will be consumed traveling 132 km = 1.5155 x 3.785

= 5.736  litre

The answer is __5.736____ liters
