2cos²A +(2-1)cosA-1=0

2cos²A +2cosA-cosA-1=0

2cosA(cosA+1)-1(cosA+1)=0

(cosA+1)(2cosA-1)=0

cosA+1=0

cosA=-1 and 2cosA =1

cosA =1/2
