Question :-

If one of the factors of (5x² + 70x – 160) is (x - 2). Find the other factor.

Given :-

p(x) = 5x² + 70x – 160

f(x) = x - 2

To find :-

Other factor.

Solution :-

By factorisation method,

5x² + 70x - 160

5x² - 10x + 80x - 160

5x ( x - 2 ) + 80 ( x - 2 )

( 5x + 80 ) (x - 2 )

Final answer :-

therefore, ( 5x + 80 ) are other factor of 5x² + 70x – 160 .
