If an object is in state of motion, then as per newton's first law of motion in the absence of any external force acting on it, the object will maintain its. motion along straight line. So the object will have displacement. However, if the object is initially at rest then there can be no displacement the work done by person is zero

Yes, there can be.But it is for a uniformly moving body.

Assume that a body is moving with a uniform velocity.So,the net force acting on it is zero.But as there is displacement along the motion of the body. Hence,it can be said that there can be displacement of an object in the absence of any force acting on it.
