Its is composed of O3.

It protects the earth from ultraviolet rays.

Ozone hole==>
It is the hole in the ozone layer due to CFCs.
there is a massive hole over Australia.

Due to ozone hole , UV rays enters earths atmosphere causing cataract(also known as skin cancer).

OZONE HOLE :- due to human activity , some compounds like Nitric oxide ( NO) , Chlorofluorocarbons (CFC) have been found to be most responsible for the creating a hole in ozone layer.

consequences of creation of ozone hole :
1. The most serious effect of the creation of ozone hole is that the ultraviolet radiation coming from the sun can pass through the stratosphere and reach the surface of earth . due to this , the chance of skin cancer increases.

2. Exposure the eye to ultraviolet damage the cornea and lens of eyes and may cause blindness or cataract .

3. creation of ozone hole has a very strong effect on climate , ozone layer absorbed the ultraviolet radiation and heats up the stratosphere , setting up a temperature gradient from -56°C to -2°C as the altitude increases from 11 to 50km. hence, creation of ozone hole will upset the heat balance of the Earth.
