Tropospheric pollution occurs due to the presence of undesirable gases and the solid particles in the air .the five major pollutants present in the tropospheric are :(1) Carbon dioxide (2) hydrocarbons (3) oxides of nitrogen (4) oxides of sulphur (5) particulates .
The major gaseous and the particulates pollutants present in the stratosphere are as follows :
(i) Gaseous air pollutants : these are oxides of sulphur , Nitrogen and carbon , Hydrogen , suphide , hydrocarbons , ozone and other oxidants .
ii) particulate pollutants : these include dust , fumed , mist , smoke , smog etc.
