if the number on the die is even then tossing a coin once . and if the number on the die is odd then tossing a coin twice.

see chart in attachment,
in die , 1, 3, 5 are odd numbers ,
for each odd number there are 4 possibilities of arranging {(HH),(HT),(TH),(TT)}

2, 4, 6 are even numbers.
for each even number , there are 2 possibilities of arranging { (HT),(TH)}

so, total number of sample space = 4 + 2 + 4 + 2 + 4 + 2 = 18
e.g., S = {1HH,1HT,1TH,1TT,2H,2T,3HH,3HT,3TH,3TT,4H,4T,5HH,5HT,5TH,5TT,6H,6T}
