Hey there!!!
♣ f (1) = 3
♦ L.H.L = lim 3
x→1^-
=3
♦R.H.L. = lim 4
x→1^+
= 4
L.H.L. ≠ R.H.L.
So, function is discontinuous at x= 1
♣ f(3) = 4
♦ L.H.L. = lim 4
x→3^-
= 4
♦ R.H.L. = lim 5
x→3^+
=5
L.H.L. ≠ R.H.L.
So, f(x) is not continuous a x = 3.
