Question 15. In the given figure, PA and PB are tangents from point P to a circle with centre O. If the radius of the circle is 10 cm and PA⊥PB then, find the length OP

S O L U T I O N :

From figure,

CA is perpendicular to AP and CB is perpendicular to BP

Again AC = BC = 10 (radius of the circle)

Also AP = PB = (Tangents from point P)

So, BPAC is a square.

AP = PB = BC = CA = 10 cm

So,

length of tangents are 10 cm each.
