Physical changes are used to seperate mixtures into their component compounds, but can't usually be used to seperate compounds into chemical elements or simpler compounds.

A change in which a substance undergoes a change in it's physical properties is called a physical change. A physical change is generally reversible. In such a change no new substance are formed.

Chemical change :

A change in which one or more new substances are formed is called chemical change.

Chemical changes are very important in our lives. All new substance are formed as a result of chemical changes.

For example :

1. Digestion of food in our body.

2. Ripening of fruits.
