Total resistance = 5+10
= 15Ω
Thus, the total current drawn = V/R
= 6/15
= 0.4amp
In parallel -
Total resistance R will be given as - 1/R = 1/R1 + 1/R2
1/R =1/5+1/10
1/R=3/10
R=10/3Ω
Thus, the total current drawn by the circuit = V/R
= 6/(10/3)
= 1.8 amp
