Answer 2)

Let ABC be the D

Let ∠A=x

∠B=2x

∠C=x

∠A+∠B+∠C=180

4x=180

x=45

∠A=45

∠B=90

∠C=45

Since ∠A=∠C

ABC is isosceles D4

.

Since ∠B=90

ABC is Right angled at B.

Answer 5)

In ΔXCY, (Refer the attachment)

mbegin mathsize 16px style angle end styleC= 900

Therefore by Pythagoras Theorem,

XC2 = XY2 + CY2

CY2= XC2 - XY2 = 372 - 122 = 1225

Therefore CY = 35 m

Similarly,

In ΔABC,

By applying Pythagoras theorem, we get

BC = 12 m

Therefore the width of the street = BY = BC + CY = 35 + 12 = 47 m

Answer 7)

Given: A 5m long ladder When Set Against The Wall Of A House Reaches A Height Of 4.8m

To do: Find how far is the foot of the ladder from the wall

Solution:

To solve this question, we will use Pythagoras theorem:

Hypotenuse2= Base2+ Height2

Here height = 4.8m, Hypotenuse = 5m (Refer 2 attachment)

We need to find base:

5^2= base^2 +4.8^2

25- 23.04= base^2

1.96= base^2

Base= \sqrt{1.96}

Base= 1.4

Hope this helps you✌✌
