Question 2 : A cyclist is to 200 m a circular bend of radius. The coefficient of friction between the
tyres and the road is 0.4.Calculate the maximum safe velocity for the cyclist.

Now the frictional force has to provide this cenrtipetal force :

m\omega^{2}r = mg\mu

\omega^{2} = \frac{\mu g}{r}\\\\\omega^{2} = \frac{0.4 \times 10}{200}\\\\\omega^{2} = 0.02 \\\\\frac{v^{2}}{r^{2}} = 0.02\\\\v^{2} = 0.02 \times 200 \times 200\\\\v^{2} = 800\\\\v = 20\sqrt{2}\\\\v = 20 \times 1.414\\\\v = 28.28 ms^{-1}
