1) the author describes his father a simple man who had neither much money nor much education . But he was an honest and had wisdom.He was also serious.

His mother was kind and generous. She was hospitable.

Abdul kalam describes as a short boy with rather undistinguished looks born of handsome parents.

2) The author inherited honesty and self discipline from his father and faith in goodness and deep kindness from his mother.
