Diagram X shows convection

Explanation:

  • The figure has been attached .
  • In diagram X , the direction of motion of air shows that air next to the hot radiator , is rising up and is circulating in the room. As it goes away from the radiator , it cools down and then flows back to the radiator.
  • The air next tot he radiator is hot beacuse of which its density decreases which further makes it light.
  • The cold air which is denser and hence heavier replaces the location of hot air and hence the air is circulated in the manner shown in the diagram X.
  • This process is called free convection.
