Sliding filament theory of muscle contraction states that contraction of a muscle fibre takes place by the sliding of the thin filaments over the thick filaments.

So.. The SFT means that the contractions that occurs on our muscles or simply the muscle contraction depends upon our body's muscle proteins that do slide past each other resulting in movement...
