First we solve the question then round off to the nearest 100's then to the nearest 10's:

1.To round off to the nearest 100 you look at the last two numbers. If the number is more the 49 downwards, you will run it down. Example 234 will be rounded off to 200.

If the two numbers are more than 50, you round it up - for example 266 will be rounded off to 300.

2. To round off to the nearest 10, you will look at the last number. If the number is less than 5, you round up and if it is less than 5 you round down.

Example; 14 will be rounded off to the nearest ten to be 10 and 16 will be rounded off to the nearest ten to be 20.

a) 439 + 334 + 4  = 777
 
  i) 777 rounded off to the nearest 100's is 800

b) 108734 - 47599 =  61135

   i) 61135 to the nearest hundred = 61100
