a^-p = 1/ a^p

i) 9^3/2

 

(3²)^3/2= 3³= 3× 3×3= 27

 

[(a^p  )^q = a^pq]

 

ii) 32^⅖

 

(2^5)^⅖ = 2²= 2×2=4

 

[(a^p  )^q = a^pq]

 

iii) (16)¾

 

(2⁴)¾ = 2³ = 2×2×2=8

 

[(a^p  )^q = a^pq]

 

iv) (125)-⅓

 

(5³)-⅓= 5-¹= 1/5

 

[(a^p  )^q = a^pq] [a^-p = 1/ a^p]
