Question 2
Save
Sunny and Sanjeev start simultaneously from
A to B, with their respective speeds in the ratio
of 5: 4. After travelling one-fifth of the total
distance, Sanjeev triples his speed and travels
for some more time, following which, he again
changes his speed and completes the rest of the
journey, Sunny, however maintains his initial speed
throughout the journey. If both Sunny and Sanjeev
reach B at the same time, and the time for which
Sanjeev travelled at thrice his initial speed was
one-fourth of his total time of travel, then find the
ratio of the respective speeds with which Sunny
and Sanjeev reach B.

Answer:

Let the speed of the car be 5x,4x and 6x kmph

Distance travel by each car be y km.

∴ Ratio of time taken=5xy:4xy:6xy

                                                          =51:41:61

                                                          =12:15:10
