Solution :

${i}^{131} + {i}^{49} \\ \\ = > { ({i}^{4}) }^{32} . {i}^{3} + { ({i}^{4}) }^{12}.i$

As we know that :

${i}^{4} = 1 \: and \: {i}^{3} = - i$

Now,

${(1)}^{32} .( - i )+ {(1)}^{12} .i \\ \\ = > 1 \times (- i) + 1 \times i \\ \\ = > - i + i = 0$
